If You're Here, You're Probably Searching for Something

Maybe you landed on this page because you've been feeling disconnected from yourself for longer than you'd like to admit. You're going through the motions of a life that used to feel meaningful, but somewhere along the way, you lost the thread.

You might be wondering who you even are anymore now that the kids are grown, the marriage has shifted, or the faith that once anchored you feels more like a question mark than an answer.

You've spent so many years taking care of everyone else that you're not sure what you need. Or maybe you know exactly what you need but feel guilty for wanting it.

You're exhausted. Not just tired, but depleted in a way that rest doesn't touch. And you're starting to realize that something has to change.

If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

Hi, I'm Teresa

I'm Teresa Grechenkov, a Clinical Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing virtual therapy to women throughout Indiana.

I specialize in working with women in midlife who are navigating transitions they didn't see coming and questions they weren't expecting to ask. My practice focuses on burnout recovery, anxiety and depression, people-pleasing patterns, religious trauma, and the deep identity work that happens when the life you built no longer fits.

I believe that women have spent too long being told their needs don't matter. In my work, I offer something different: a space where you are the priority. Where your questions are welcome. Where caring for yourself isn't treated as selfish but as something sacred and necessary.

Why I Focus on This Work

My focus on midlife women and faith transitions isn't accidental. I chose this specialization because I understand the unique challenges that come with this territory.

I'm familiar with conservative religious contexts, including Mennonite, Amish, Baptist, and Pentecostal traditions. I know what it's like when beliefs that once felt like home start to feel constraining. I understand the complexity of loving people whose beliefs may have hurt you, and the courage it takes to question what you've always been taught.

This understanding shapes how I show up in therapy. Many clients find they can spend less time explaining background and more time focusing on what matters most to them. You are always welcome to share as much or as little as you want, at a pace that feels right for you.

What Working Together Feels Like

Therapy with me feels like finally having a space that belongs only to you. There are no expectations to perform, no one else's emotions to manage, and no pressure to have it all figured out before you walk through the door.

My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I don't position myself as the expert who will fix you. Instead, I see myself as a guide walking alongside you as you reconnect with your own wisdom and strength.

Sessions move at your pace. Some days we might focus on processing difficult emotions. Other days we might work on practical skills like setting boundaries or managing anxiety. I bring gentle honesty to our work. I'll name patterns when I see them, but always with care and space for whatever feelings come up.

What clients often tell me is that they feel truly seen. Not judged. Not rushed. Just met exactly where they are.

Midlife Therapy for Women’s Big Questions

I help women ages 35-55 navigating significant life transitions and questioning their identity. Many have spent years as caregivers or people-pleasers, prioritizing others and losing connection with their own needs and desires.

If you're navigating any of the following, we might be a good fit:

  • Feeling lost or disconnected after divorce, empty nest, or career change
  • Chronic exhaustion and burnout that won't lift
  • Anxiety that shows up as perfectionism, worry, or an inability to rest
  • Difficulty setting boundaries or saying no without guilt
  • Questioning religious beliefs or processing spiritual wounds
  • Rebuilding your identity after a major life transition

What Clients Value About This Space

Women come to me because they want a therapist who genuinely understands where they've been. They've often felt misunderstood by previous therapists or well-meaning friends who couldn't quite grasp the complexity of their experiences.

Here's what clients tell me they appreciate:

  • Genuine warmth that feels authentic, not performative
  • Deep understanding of religious and cultural backgrounds without judgment
  • A calm, grounded presence that helps them feel steady
  • Permission to prioritize themselves without guilt
  • Gentle directness that names patterns clearly and kindly
  • Collaboration rather than being told what to do
  • Hope held for them, even when they've temporarily lost their own
